How LC Clear came to be

It started with a number from the research: ICC Academy estimates that 65-75% of documentary-credit presentations are refused on first presentation. Not because of the goods, but because of a date, a goods description, a missing notation on the bill of lading. Every refusal means a fee, a correction loop, and a payment that arrives weeks late.

Then came the conversation that made the number real. A commodity trader working across the Middle East and Asia explained that three of his staff do nothing but check Letter of Credit documents before presentation, and that the bank still refuses them regularly. Three full-time roles for an examination that follows rules unchanged since 2007. That was not a niche. That was a gap every exporter with LC business pays for every month.

LC Clear is the answer: the examination under UCP 600 and ISBP 821 before the bank does it.
